The definition of stereo-types which is a standardised, often simplified, mental pictures or attitude that is held in common by members of a group.
How we stereotype: As human we use our own unique storehouse of knowledge about people when we judge them
How we stereotype: we categorise people on different types to simplify the task of person perception e.g. workaholic, feminist etc.
Behaviour - typical things that people in this group do "grannies like to knit"
Appearance - this can include, physical appearance and clothing as well as the sound of the voice e.g. " all teachers wear dreadful old clothes
we have each a system of rules that tells us a characteristics go with other characteristics
Changing representation - counter-types
